Geckos, Automata is coming out eventually, but it has encountered some setbacks. One of the biggest is that I dislike how many of the later chapters are written, and now I'm going through and rewriting them. Guess my writing has improved quite a bit in the last three years, if it needs that amount of tweaking.
It'll be worth the wait. Promise.
I'm beginning to think I need to sit on drafts several years before I share them. That should allow enough time for me to edit them repeatedly, take a break for a year or two, and come back with fresh eyes to fix the glaringly obvious issues, right?! :D
Anyhow, Geckos is happening.
We'll see about anything else after that.
I do want to make something of a playlist for Geckos. Earlier today, I put on FF7 Remake's Train Graveyard music (I don't know the title, but maybe it's "Train Graveyard"), and it felt so suitable for Geckos. It's such a haunting and beautiful light melody. Very fitting for a story that mostly takes place at train stations and is about necromancy and ghosts!
(And automatons and abuse! Oh wait.)
Then "The Past" from Shadow Hearts II came on just a few minutes ago, and I thought, "This is a nice song for a Geckos playlist!"
I have decided I will not actually make a full playlist yet, but I will in the future, with characters/scenes that the songs might make me think of?
Anyway, links to youtube for the two songs I mentioned in this post tonight:
